Snapdeal’s Big-Billion Day: #SnapdealIndiaMobileDay

Any corner we turn, we find ourselves facing Snapdeal’s ‘Dil Ki Deal’ campaign. We might be watching Piku or AIB’s ‘Honest Indian Wedding’, and we will see the discernible gift box along with the red, blue and white of the company’s logo. Snapdeal is clearly wearing an aggressive campaign to compete with the likes of Flipkart and Amazon. With all kinds of deals in the gift bag, the one that speaks most to the Indian population would probably involve the ubiquitous mobile phone. Hence, by the script, #SnapdealIndiaMobileDay is having its unveiling today. Snapdeal is calling it the Biggest Mobile Sale. Discounts and offers are being provided on Mobiles, Tablets and  Accessories. The Redmi 2 is being offered exclusively on the site at a price of Rs 6999, while there is 60% off on Nokia Lumia 630.  However, the hype doesn’t seem to have matched expectations. Customers on Facebook are not happy with the discounts and are calling out Snapdeal for not providing many exciting offers. On Twitter, customers are distracted by contests offering free Xiaomi Redmi 2. Basically, Snapdeal has us right where it wants us.
