No matter what your preference is for owning a car, social media seems to be buzzing on this topic. This time, we wanted to have a look as to which car brands in India gets people talking the most on social media.
A total of 61 passenger car brands were considered in the analysis including Hyundai Elite i20,Honda City, Chevrolet Spark, Hyundai i10, Fortuner, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Nano, Ertiga, Alto K10, Punto Evo, Verna, Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Bolero, Dzire and SX4.
The comparison was made in terms of buzz that was acquired through earned (conversations elsewhere other than the company’s pages) and owned media (conversations on brand’s own channels like Facebook pages, Twitter accounts). The period of this analysis was October 1 to 30, 2014.
It is interesting to note that for most of the passenger car brands, Indian brands usually have dedicated social channels for each car brand. While the global counterpart has a single social channel for India which led to the low owned media buzz for them.
Hyundai Elite i20 has the highest share of earned media followed by Honda City and Chevrolet Spark.
